About System:
Bobby Maesaka is the Founder and Senior Chief Instructor of San
Sei Bu Kenpo Karate Club since 1982, founded in Pearl City, Hawaii.
I
have been a student of Martial Arts since 1966 and will always be
a Martial Arts student.
Goju Ryu Karate student under the direct instructions of the late
Sensei Tomu Arakawa since 1966.
A student and instructor with Leeward Kenpo Karate since 1984, under
the tutelage of Grand Master Edmund Louis who came from the background
of Kajukenbo. Hawaii's Famous Mixed Martial Arts.
A Certified Law Enforcement Self Defense Instructor (PPCT) in 2007.
San Sei Bu Self Defense Systems Kenpo Karate Club is a serious proven
organization of dedicated Martial Arts instructors. With combined
teaching experience of over 40 years.
All of the instructors take pride on focusing the street effective,
self defense system tailored and taught to meet each individual
student's needs.
Students who participate will develop their: mind, body, eye and
hand coordination, self - discipline, respect for others, self esteem,
good manners, self - respect, proper Martial Arts etiquette and
last but not least self - defense.
All students will be taught the basic techniques of: blocks, punches,
open hand strikes, kicks, block counter techniques, grab arts, katas.
Multiple man attack defense, club, stick, knife and gun defenses
are also taught.
The basic technique being; a repetition of blocks, strikes, and
kicks done by you to your opponent or opponents and the philosophy;
being if the 1st strike doesn't get your opponent or opponents,
the 2nd, 3rd and so on will get them. In other words we do not believe
in the one punch theory. We do blocks that are necessary and a multiple
series of strike techniques.

Tournament sparring and katas are taught to all students.
Tournaments are hosted my instructor Grandmaster Edmund Louis and
other affiliate Martial Arts Schools and Martial Arts of different
styles.
Promotions are earned by required merits:
Attendance is very important part of all requirements.
Attention in class.
Ability to perform basic techniques such as: basic block, block
counters,all strikes grab arts and katas.
Knowledge of grab arts and katas.
Retain the knowledge they are taught for their next level.
Participation in class.
Each student has their own skill of learning ability. Some students
may retain knowledge taught and excel. Therefore, the student may
be promoted faster than others. Belts are not sold or given, they
are earned by required merits.
Adult belt system is white, yellow, orange, purple, blue, green,
brown and black.
Youths belt system is white, yellow with white stripe in the middle,
yellow belt, orange with white stripe in the middle, orange belt
and so on.
Youths who reach the level of black belt will have a white stripe
in the middle of the belt to represent they are a youth.
Open enrollment for students from age 7 to adult are presently being
accepted until further notice.
Any student under 7, I will discuss with the parent, possibly make
an exception and accept the your child under conditions.
